Kirkman's Magnesium Citrate Soluble Powder is one of the easiest magnesium supplements to use because it is completely soluble in water-based liquids. Because it contains citric acid, it is also buffered when in solution. It dissolves in water, juice, lemonade or any other water- based liquid. It is non-gritty and has a very pleasant citrus taste that comes from the citric acid present.
This is a hypoallergenic formulation specially designed for individuals with special requirements and sensitivities. There are no artificial flavorings or sweeteners added. This product can also be added to hot water to make a very pleasant tea or can be added to your favorite commercial tea resulting in a nice citrus note. Adults and children will find using this product a great way to supplement magnesium.
As with all magnesium supplements, stools can become looser with use. If this occurs, cut back on the dosage.
The use and effectiveness of magnesium supplementation is well-documented. Magnesium is an essential mineral that is involved in many body functions as well as being a constituent of bones and teeth. It is an essential element of cellular metabolism and is an enzyme activator. Other body actions include:
⢠Magnesium relaxes nerve impulses and muscle contractions.
⢠Magnesium promotes relaxation and, in the process, may aid in restful sleep1, 2.
Signs and symptoms of a magnesium shortage can include fatigue, mental confusion, heart disturbances, irritability, weakness, muscle spasms, loss of appetite, sleep problems or a feeling of weakness1, 2.
Magnesium supplements usually have their beginning as minerals that have been influenced by our environment. For that reason, the purity of magnesium raw materials is important. Magnesium, like calcium, can have undesirable impurities present. The responsibility to assure the absence of lead and other heavy metals falls on the manufacturer. Kirkman® uses only the purest forms of magnesium that have been tested for heavy metal content, as well as other impurities.
There are many different forms of magnesium, and the Physician's Desk Reference for Nutritional Supplements states that there is no compelling data indicating absorption differences. There are reported differences in how different forms affect the gastrointestinal tract, however. Below are some guidelines, though individual results may vary and should be discussed with your physician before administration.
⢠oxide: tends to firm stools
⢠glycinate: a very gentle form of magnesium that is easier on the system
⢠citrate: tends to loosen stools
⢠sulfate: tends to loosen stools
⢠chloride: tends to loosen stools

MAGNESIUM CITRATE SOLUBLE POWDER IS FORMULATED WITH AN ANHYDROUS FORM OF MAGNESIUM CITRATE MAKING IT SOLUBLE IN WATER AND OTHER WATER BASED LIQUIDS. AFTER POWDER IS MIXED IN THE LIQUID, LET MIXTURE SIT FOR 15 MINUTES AND REMIX TO MAXIMIZE SOLUBILITY. THE BIOAVAILABILITY AND ABSORPTION OF THIS FORM OF MAGNESIUM WILL BE UNSURPASSED. THE CALMING QUALITIES OF MAGNESIUM WILL BE SEEN MUCH QUICKER THAN WITH OTHER FORMS OF MAGNESIUM.
